Empathize

Observe and listen to see how users feel to understand their values & beliefs.

Define

Synthesize data and user quotes for patterns & connections to create a problem statement.

Ideate

Generate ideas, not evaluate ideas, and thus drive out obvious solutions by creating a large range of possibilities.

Prototype

Build with the users in mind and a specific question needing to be answered.

Test

Observe how users respond to a range of solutions, then use their insights to refine the problem and improve the solutions.
